Hannah van Mook
Lawyer
hvanmook@infinity-law.comHannah grew up in Pemberton, BC, before it was cool, and moved to New Brunswick to start her undergraduate degree. After exploring the East Coast, she moved back to her home province to complete her BSc in psychology, MSc in cognition, and Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria.
During law school, Hannah focused on ways to apply her background in psychology to the legal field. She contributed to the Trauma Informed Toolkit published by Golden Eagle Rising Society for use in the legal profession, and Trauma-Informed Law: A Primer for Practicing Lawyers and a Pathway for Resilience and Healing, published by the American Bar Association. She also volunteered as the Health and Wellness Coordinator with UVic’s Chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada and worked as a temporary articled student at the University of Victoria (UVic) Law Centre, focusing on civil litigation, criminal defence, and family law.
During the first few years of her legal career, Hannah moved to Alberta so that she could purchase a home and experience the Rockies. She opened her own law practice with a focus on wills, estates, real estate, and family law in the small town of Sundre. Throughout her time in Alberta, she volunteered with the Community Legal Clinic in Red Deer, with a focus on family and estate matters, and held wills and estates information sessions for the Sundre Palliative Care Association.
Eventually, the ocean pulled her back home, and she now works out of our Mill Bay office with a focus on family law, real estate, wills, and estates. She is a “dual” citizen as a member of both the Alberta Law Society and Law Society of British Columbia.
Outside of work, Hannah watches too much HGTV and likes to explore local trails, bookstores, and wineries. She has a soft spot for rescue animals and currently has three Australian Cattle Dogs and four cats. Although her dad once played pro golf, she can barely swing a club.
